As the wise men brought valuable gifts and fell down to worship Jesus, so is the woman who poured precious, costly oil on Him, as her heart bowed to worship. Jesus commended her act of worship, as he did a poor widow, who gave a meager offering of all she had; Luke 21:4 It wasn’t the size of the gifts, although appreciated, it was the size of the heart. Worship is powerful! In many instances, the Greek meaning is to kiss, like a dog licking his master’s hand…wholly loyal and fondly affectionate. “Worship is giving our whole to God”, first in our acceptance of Jesus, and then exemplified in the lives we live. Beyond that, it’s so beautiful to lavish and honor Him with expressions of worship, as this pleases Him! Worship is liberating, as He moves so mightily in our lives!
